Every year in the month of February God helps us to organize with grandeur,the festival of offerings (Harvest Festival) at the Sanctuary, Gooty. Thousands of people eagerly look forward for this festival. Another name for this festival is “Festival that gives wealth”. People praise God for giving them creation, His Son, and His Spirit. They offer joyfully the produce of their fields, fruits, flowers, handicrafts, sheep, goats and cattle. The Sanctuary is decorated with fruits, vegetables and flowers. God’s portion of money (tithes) is offered by employees, business people and laborers. Some fast for 3 days or 5 days or 7 days for the festival and offer the rice collected during these days. Even students and children give offerings. The yield of fields like vegetables and fruits are piled up in heaps beside the altar. Those who witnessed the festival testified that it brought to their memory the harvest festival celebrated during the time of the people of Israel. Many testified that from the day of the Festival of Offerings God blessed them with wealth and abundance, solved their financial problems and made them givers rather than receivers. Some testified that they decided to give a portion of their field to God. Those who have vehicles testified that from the day of the festival when their vehicles were blessed, they were blessed with abundance.
